Murray Is Looking Forward To Masters ‘Full Of Rich Promise’

Ewen Murray is looking forward to the Masters in “Garden of Eden” golf’s and attempting to highlight a winner from “the most impressive field in depth the Masters has had since its inception”.

Within our shores, there is no golfer present that doesn’t look forward to the April first week. At their own courses, the grass wake up from its winter slumbers, the bluebells and daffodils emerge from the woodlands and the green keepers fire up the mowers after being in the hibernation for months.

Two Wins On Monday

The Monday scramble seemed to have been fruitful for two contestants in different championships.

While Justin Thomas was able to secure the title for the PGA Tour and gain his fifth title of the season, Stacy Lewis was able to break the drought of winless games she had been participating in and win it for her hometown Houston.

As the FedEx playoff events are narrowing down, many are moving closer to the final champion title that would be decided at the final event, the Tour Championships. Justin Thomas himself moved a step towards this goal with the 63-66 score that he achieved at the end of the Dell Technologies Championship.

There are other close contenders in the series who are coming close to being in the top positions for the final champion position. Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth are definitely two names in the games and they will be looking to stay close to Thomas so that they can steal the position of Player of the Year with the coveted ten million prize money.

The other feel good story is the win that Stacey Lewis obtained at the Women’s British Open. This has been a win that came dear after five years; there was also a charitable angle to this win as Lewis made a selfless gesture that has warmed the hearts of thousands of her fans. She donated a sizeable chunk of her prize money to the Houston flood relief organization which was a great gesture on her part. She was also relieved to have obtained this win after a long time. Indeed, she admitted that the run of winless games had been on for so long for her that she had forgotten what it was to win. She was not sure that she could do what needed to be done at the last moments of a winning match, it had been so long.

Rookie Sebastian Munoz Maintain His Lead At Greenbrier Classic

Greenbrier Classic has reached to its third round and in the third round, Sebastian Munoz maintained his lead over Robert Streb, after shooting a two-under-par 68.

With this he has been able to maintain a lead of two-stroke over Robert, keeping the rookie on the PGA Tour in position to become the first wire-to-wire winner of the tournament.

Munoz, who is now 24-year-old from Colombia, was at 14-under 196 at Old White TPC. Jamie Lovemark and Rookie Xander Schauffele after 66s were at 11 under. On the other hand Davis Love III after a 68 was at 10 under. He is now aged 53 and he is trying to become the PGA Tour’s oldest winner. Russell Henley, who is 68 years old and Kelly Kraft, who is now 67 were also 10 under.

While the birdie pace of Munoz slowed to a trickle, but he overcame several mistakes to stay at the top of the leader board. On the ninth hole, he saved par after driving under a tree, and then, on the par-four 13th with a 26-foot birdie putt, he regained the lead after driving into the rough. On the par-four 15th, he added a 36-footer for birdie.

Streb, who was behind Munoz by five strokes entered the day, birdied the 11th, 490-yard and hit his shot of 231-yard next to the flag and at the par-five 12th, he made eagle.

In this tournament, he would like to do a little better than what he did in the tournament of 2015. In 2015, he lost in a four-man playoff and it was won by Danny Lee.

As if now, in this season, every golfer in the tournament has pulled up their socks and want to grab the trophy. But, the results will be out only on the final day.

Justin Rose Slips Up At Augusta

Justin Rose realizes that he let one of the major tournaments slip him by.

There are pitfalls of the sport and every game can have only one winner. While a victory can only be one, the defeats are numerous. Justin Rose participated in Augusta National’s where his playoff suffered a loss to Sergio Garcia. Of course he did have a victory at 2013 US Open which was a major championship win. His professional career started about 19 years back when he finished fourth while participating in the Open held at Royal Birkdale. He missed out about 21 cuts consecutively.

At the Augusta National he was leading by two shots. There were about six holes left to play. He was up to play one stroke with two remaining. Justin Rose had the potential to win the tournament, but he lost out on the first hole when a playoff faced a sudden death. Rose ended up taking honors of the consolation round.

He won the gold medal when the golf tournament of the first kind was held for the Olympics in Rio. If he had won at Augusta National he would be joining the leagues of Ben Hogan. It would also have given him the opportunity to try a win at the Master like Nick Faldo and Danny Willett. Garcia might have taken a penalty at the 13th hole which would have led to Rose winning. Rose admits that this tournament was one where he surrenders to Garcia. He had faced Garcia earlier as well, back in their amateur days. Rose states that he was calm, collected and cool in the rounds. He had felt confident and in control and if Sergio did not make a comeback, he would have cruised through the tournament. However, he feels that one has to be willing to enjoy the tournaments.

MARTIN KAYMER’S CAREER SO FAR

It has being a trend for partakers in the entertainment world to fluctuate when they experience a level of success.

This hypothesis was tested in music, football and now golf using the likes of Tiger Woods as a case study. \

The hypothesis can also be tested on the German golfer, Martin Kaymer who slides down the line after a series of winnings at the early age of thirty one. The golfer who is ranked among the top fifty golfers in the world has about 20 medals to his name. Among this medal is the PGA tour that he won three times, the European tour and lots more in Europe and America.

The German born golfer, Martin Kaymer was became a golf professional at the age of twenty due to his skills in driving and shooting the ball around the court. He has some wins to his name, making his commercial golfing profitable to him and his group. His worth is still on the early seven digits in dollars but he has decided to give back to the community apart from the tax he pays.

Martin Kaymer joined the likes of Justin Rose and Danby Wullet to express their displeasure publicly about the hostile Hazeltinecrowd, an act that generated more controversies on social media.

Commercializing games is now a common practice in the recent time. When the likes of Tiger Woods and Martin Kaymer worth millions in the assets. It was reached and put to book that Kaymer worth’s about seven figures in dollars which is an encouragement for others coming behind to become better in the game.

Despite his worth and age, he is still a bachelor, an idea which can be linked to his increase performance in the game of golf since marital problems have destabilize better golfers in the past.

WOODS HOPING TO PLAY A ‘FULL SCHEDULE’ IN 2017

For next year 2017, Tiger Woods is hoping to play a full schedule, hut has admitted that while finalizing his plans, he would do to well to ensure that he makes the “smart play.”

“I’ll have a couple weeks off, work with my physios, get a little bit stronger and then really assess the plan, and what is the smart play.

“How much can we play on the West Coast? How much can we play in Florida leading to the Masters? What’s the plan leading to Augusta? Quite frankly, I haven’t done it in a while, so we’re going to be smart about it.”

Woods also reiterated that it was nice that he once again was back on track and has recovered his speed. He also believes he needs to play some more tournaments despite just having come back from some time off due to the back surgeries he had to undergo.

Luke Donald In The Olympics

This year proved to be lucky for Luke as Luke Donald was called in to replace Jaco van Zyl who withdrew from the Open Championships.

Luke obtained the number one title in the world of golf in 2011 when the tournament had been held in May. His chance to qualify in the Opens this year came about in the Scottish Open. Being an Englishman and 38 years of age, he had been kept as a reserve to participate in the Open. As Van Zyl chose to rest before he competes in the Rio Olympics Luke got his chance.

There were several other changes in the nominations as Stewart Cink, the former winner, also chose to withdraw. As a result he allowed Daniel Summerhays to be part of the Opens. Donald had finished in the 12th position in St Andrews which was held last year. The cut was missed out when the Open was held at Troon in the year 2004. He also played the British Open which was held at Royal Troon. Jaco van Zyl withdrawing from participating in the 145th Open was a boon, after he participated in the Scottish Open. Donald is not new to Royal Troon where he has played previously for two occasions.

The Scottish Open was held at Castle Stuart. Donald is ranked as 83rd in the world rankings for golf players. The last competition that he won was in 2012 which was the BMW PGA championship. He harbors dreams of making it to the Ryder Cup this summer. He stated to reporters that it was an aim that he was planning at. There are other players who are kept as reserves for the Open. These are Daniel Summerhays, Colt Knost and Jamie Lovemark who are reserves for the championship.

Luke Donald 5 shots off the pace at the Puerto Rico Open

Rafael Campos became the very first golf player from Puerto Rico to lead a PGA Tour tourney for thirty-seven years thanks to an opening sixty-four in Puerto Rico Open – place where Luke Donald lies 5 shots off the pace.

Rafael carded 8 birdies in an unflawed round at the Coco Beach to lead by 1 from Unites States’ George McNeill, along with Alex Cejka part of a 4 strong group another shot back. The last time when a Puerto Rico golfer led a PGA Tour tourney was the Tallahassee Open in 1979, when Chi Chi Rodriguez was tied for fifty-four hole lead before winning his 8th and final title.

George appeared all set to claim a share of the lead following 6 birdies in the gap of 7 holes, but dripped his only shot of the day on the past after conking out to get up and down from a greenside bunker. Cejka, who became victorious won his 1st PGA Tour title on his 287th appearance twelve months ago, carded 7 birdies and 1 bogey to join Frank Lickliter, Aaron Baddeley as well as Will Mackenzie on 6 under par.

Cejka told that even just coming in the other day you have great memories, there is something in the air. He feels comfortable and good. He had good rounds here in the past. He like the golf course and he is laying quite well.

Luke Donald, the former world number one, carded a 3-under-par 69, whereas fellow English golfer Ian Poulter – who left out on a spot in this week’s WGC-Dell Match Play by only 0.044 world ranking points – returned a seventy-one.

Match Play suits Jason Day, Adam Scott

Jason Day, the defending champ and number six, has attracted Americans Charley Hoffman, Zach Johnson and South African golfer Branden Grace for round robin stage of World Golf Championships Match Play at the Harding Park.

Jason Day

Day, who exacted the remunerative event fought out by world top sixty four ranked golf players in the earlier straight knockout format previous year would this year have to win his group after checks against each man earlier on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to get to the knockout round of sixteen.

Jason told the Yacht charter UK website that the largest win of his career after a great final battle with Victor Dubuisson went twenty two holes last year and comes back in form after a tie for 4th at Zurich Classic. He is 14-3 lifetime in the event as well as the man from Queensland would like his scopes having smashed Johnson six and five 2years ago in Tucson on his way to a 3rd spot finish.

Adam Scott, the world number nine, has been all set to play against Englishman Paul Casey, Italian Francesco Molinari and American Chris Kirk the lowest ranked golfer in the pack. Paul is the dark horse of the group having ended as runner-up in the year 2009 and 2010 tournaments.

Coming back to the event after missing previous year partly in protest to the old 1-and-done format as well as the Tucson course, Adam is expecting an alteration of scenery would help his record in the event.

Rose Triumphs At Zurich Classic 2015

Justin Rose has reportedly emerged victorious at 2015 Zurich Classic. This win marked the 7th PGA tour triumph of his career.

Rose shot bogey-free six-under-par sixty six in the last round of the championship that led to a tournament-record twenty two-under total of two hundred and sixty six that made him 1 clear of Cameron Tringale (America)- who was in need of an eagle to force play-off yet could just manage 1 birdie at par-five eighteenth.

It marked the first success for the US Open 2013 champ who has not tasted victory since winning at 2014 Quicken Loans National. He holed the putts from ten & thirteen ft on last couple of holes to ensure his success.

The world # 9 has finally won the championship once at least in the past 6 years- the 2nd longest streak after Dustin Johnson’s 8 straight.

“On my route to course today, I was pondering, 2010, 11, 12, 2013, 14 & was trying to do something about it. 6 years constant isn’t easy & I am really proud & grateful of the stat”, remarked Rose.

Saturday’s proceedings were unfortunately curtailed by constant disruptions from bad weather and hence the next day the golfers started early to finish their 3rd rounds.

Rose made 6 birdies on a damp course in the last round & played the final sixty six holes sans a bogey.

He came up with a speedy start, joining Day (Jason) at top of leader board & finished with 7-under 65, staying 1 shot away from Blayne Barber & Daniel Berger.

2 consecutive birdies on 6th & 7th saw Blayne move into lead position as 4th round started. However, the US golfer fell out soon, bogeying the 9th & sealing date with dual bogey on 17th.
