DONALD UNDER PRESSURE

Luke Donald has been under some pressure to maintain his number position in the World Golf Rankings. He climbed up to the numero uno position after winning a whole bunch of tournaments in Europe and The United States of America.

But of late he has not been in his best shape and form and has had a slow start to this season. He has recently been blessed with a daughter and has hence cannot be blamed for having taken his eyes off the golf.

Luke Donald entered the winter break confident of the fact that his number one position will be intact for it would take more than one victory for Mcilroy and Westwood to reach the first position.

Luke Donald has had a very slow start to this season with the achievements of his previous season fast fading away from the minds of the people. His Ryder cup teammates who have entered the semi finals of the Accenture WGC Match play are confident of displacing Luke Donald from the number one position in the World Golf Rankings. Luke Donald was beaten five and four by Ernie Els of South Africa in the very first round itself.

Cadillac WGC Strokeplay Championship is coming up in two weeks where the best golfers from all over the world will be competing. This will prove to be very important for Luke Donald as a lot of points will be on offer in this tournament if he is to secure his number one position.

Luke Donald also suffered a heavy defeat at the Dove Mountain Course which has been carved out in the Arizona Desert. This has taken a toll on Luke Donald’s form and mood. He has accepted the fact that he has had a very slow start to the season but was quick to mention that nothing is permanent in the game of golf. He is still hopeful of making things turn around in his favour.

KAYMER FOCUSSES ON PUTTING

In order to overcome his disappointment of a poor start to the Gulf Swing, Martin Kaymer is quite busy in his hotel, where he is practicing putting before the start of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

In the last 4 years, the German golfer has won three times here in Abu Dhabi and was widely expected to seal a hat-trick of wins fifteen days ago until he missed the cut at 6 over par.

Last week at the Qatar Masters, the 27 year old golfer regained some pride by ending tied for 9th at 7 under par in tough conditions, but Kaymer insists that still he is miles away from the where he wants to be.

Kaymer thinks that playing wise he has improved, but still he needs to work on his putting. He has not done enough in recent times leading up to Abu Dhabi.

He admitted that he struggled in Abu Dhabi and in Qatar, last week; it was hard because of the wind. He was practicing with hti golf clubs in his hotel room as it was difficult to practice in windy conditions.

The only thing which is disappointing him is his putting and the German is putting so much hard work as he really wants to win it again. When asked about the greens in his hotel room, he replied that it was very nice.

Martin Kaymer said that compared to Abu Dhabi, he putted netter in Qatar. Therefore he is feeling slightly better, but he still wants to improve as he has not reached where he wanted to be.
