Matt Kuchar looking to make a Mark at Canadian Open

The RBC Canadian Open is scheduled for tee off on Thursday, the 26th of July and with the addition of South African legend Ernie Els, the playing field just got stronger and more difficult for the ones who are not so experienced.

The Canadian Open, the third oldest golf tournament in the world after The Open Championship and the US Open, had lost some of its sheen in recent months but with a playing field that boasts plenty of former winners of Majors and title hopefuls, the hype surrounding the tournament is at an all time high.

And stacked in the playing card is the name of Matt Kuchar, an up and coming American golfer who is looking to seal his second title on the PGA Tour with a win at the prestigious Canadian Open. And Kuchar is currently on a brilliant run as well, having notched up top 10 finishes in both the Travelers as well as The Open Championship.

Matt Kuchar also appeared at the RBC Canadian Open last season as well, but he was hardly able to make a mark, shooting above par in both of his rounds as he failed to even make the cut. However, the run of form that he is in at the moment might just give him some motivation and momentum to take him a step further from last year.

But, if Kuchar has hopes that he will have an easy run at the Canadian Open, he will be gravely mistaken as the likes of Jim Furyk, Ernie Els as well as the defending champion Sean O’Hair will make life difficult for the American youngster.

But there can be nothing taken for granted in golf as it turned out in The Open Championship when Adam Scott threw away a five shot lead and Matt Kuchar could only hope for something similar.
