Greenbrier Classic has reached to its third round and in the third round, Sebastian Munoz maintained his lead over Robert Streb, after shooting a two-under-par 68.
With this he has been able to maintain a lead of two-stroke over Robert, keeping the rookie on the PGA Tour in position to become the first wire-to-wire winner of the tournament.
Munoz, who is now 24-year-old from Colombia, was at 14-under 196 at Old White TPC. Jamie Lovemark and Rookie Xander Schauffele after 66s were at 11 under. On the other hand Davis Love III after a 68 was at 10 under. He is now aged 53 and he is trying to become the PGA Tour’s oldest winner. Russell Henley, who is 68 years old and Kelly Kraft, who is now 67 were also 10 under.
While the birdie pace of Munoz slowed to a trickle, but he overcame several mistakes to stay at the top of the leader board. On the ninth hole, he saved par after driving under a tree, and then, on the par-four 13th with a 26-foot birdie putt, he regained the lead after driving into the rough. On the par-four 15th, he added a 36-footer for birdie.
Streb, who was behind Munoz by five strokes entered the day, birdied the 11th, 490-yard and hit his shot of 231-yard next to the flag and at the par-five 12th, he made eagle.
In this tournament, he would like to do a little better than what he did in the tournament of 2015. In 2015, he lost in a four-man playoff and it was won by Danny Lee.
As if now, in this season, every golfer in the tournament has pulled up their socks and want to grab the trophy. But, the results will be out only on the final day.
