Bubba Watson is a professional golfer from the United States of America who is currently a part of the US PGA Tour and is a former winner of the US Masters, having won the title in 2012. Born as Gary Lester Watson, Jr. he is one of the few left handed golfers playing on the Tour at this time alongside the legendary ‘Lefty’ Phil Mickelson.
Watson turned professional in 2003 and shortly afterwards, joined the Nationwide Tour, which is considered by many as a development or spring board Tour to the US PGA Tour. He played on the Nationwide Tour till 2005 and during his last year on the Tour, he finished 21st in the money list, thus, becoming the last player to earn the right to play in the US PGA Tour from the following season. Beginning his career in the US PGA Tour, Bubba Watson quickly earned fame for his long drives and in his first season, finished 90th in the money list of the Tour.
He even managed to reach the final rounds of the US Open major championship in 2007 finishing tied for fifth at the end of the event after hovering around the top for much of the event. In 2010, he won his first ever title on the US PGA Tour when he took home the trophy from the Travelers Championship. He finished runner-up to Martin Kaymer at the PGA Championship that same year.
Bubba Watson has also won the Famers Insurance Open in 2011, the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, taking his total victory on the US PGA Tour to four. Although he has not had the success on the field in terms of trophies and titles won, Watson is seen as one of the most consistent players on the Tour in spite of it.
