The Professional Gold Tour Of India (PGTI) on Monday announced a 3 year exclusive partnership with Ten Golf, a channel exclusively dedicated to golf.
With the deal, Ten Golf bags the broadcasting rights for all PGTI approved tournaments within and outside the country to be held between 2012-2014.
The channel will also air a weekly show named “Inside the PGTI” which will highlight the golfing events from PGTI events. It will also feature golfers from the PGTI circuit. It will also air unique promos and fillers based on PGTI tour and Indian golfers.
Commenting on the launch of an exclusive golf channel, Jyoti Randhawa, former Asian Tour number one said that it is great to have a channel which gives Indian golfers more exposure, and added that it is very important to have a platform where Indian golfers are seen. It will help to get sponsors.
Manav Jaini, a rising name in the Indian golf circuit also said that the partnership will help Indian golf. He said that they need a channel which will support Indian golf. The fact that the winner of the ndian Tour gets an invitation to the US Masters also helps to increase the interest ion golf in India. (though we can’t see the Indian winner being offered at the best Masters golf betting odds!)
Meanwhile Padamjit Sandhu, director of PGTI said that they are excited about the collaboration with Ten Golf. He further added that he believes that the expertise, knowledge and the bandwidth of Ten Golf will take Indian golf to the next level.
It is important for them to showcase the depth of Indian talent and their achievements with the support of a professional electronic medium. Atul Pande, CEO of Taj Television India Pvt Ltd said that their tie-up with PGTI will help to strengthen the Indian tour.
